Welcome to Chaparral
Home of the Cowboys!
The Class of 2013 will graduate on June 8, 2013, at 6:00 PM - Orleans Arena. Go Cowboys!
Thank you again for the opportunity to work with your wonderful children for a second year at Chaparral High School. As the weather begins to warm up rapidly, it is a reminder that as we approach graduation for the Class of 2013, it is important that all students, not just the seniors, continue to do their very best not only for themselves, but for all of Chaparral.
Students must pass the Nevada State High School Proficiencies in the areas of Mathematics, Science, Reading, and Writing. For our Sophomores and Juniors, these tests were taken in March, and we are proud of our results. Seniors that have yet to pass will be taking these tests again in May. Please ensure your children are actively participating in our after school and weekend proficiency preparation sessions taking place on a regular basis.
Students need to pass 22.5 credits which are outlined by the State of Nevada. In order for this to happen, they need to attend class, not be tardy, and actively participate in their education. Students who are chronically tardy or truant will required to have a parent conference to build a plan for their attendance as well as consequences for continued tardiness and absences.
Our primary responsibility here at Chaparral is to do everything we can to assist your child to graduate and be ready to exit CCSD ready to continue their education at the next level and enter the work force.
It has been a wonderful year as our students are actively participating in athletics, band, choir, orchestra, drama, debate, and other clubs and activities at record levels. We are truly blessed with incredible young ladies and gentlemen here at Chaparral High School.
Please let me know if I may be of help in any way.
